Now, on to the actual blog post! Voila!~ :3

On this Too-Long-Thursday, everyone is just gritting their teeth and waiting for TGIF to finally let loose and P-A-R-T-Y!! To help all of you pass the time on this Too-Long-Thursday, we'll be doing a HAIR SPECIAL!~ Yay! So, what is this hair special all about? It's going to be all about Chalks and Buns!~ Yay!!

Recently, there's been this trend called "Hair Chalking". As you all know Hair Chalking is the latest hair craze and it is a non-committal, easy, quick and inexpensive way of colouring your hair TEMPORARILY - with chalk! It's also a DYI way of adding spunky colours to your hair without the commitment and it is LOADS of fun! :3

Here are How To's and some tips to Hair Chalking:

Step 1: Buy your chalk

You can buy inexpensive NON-OIL-BASED chalk pastels at Daiso for just $2 or at any stationery shops. You can also buy specialised hair chalks off the internet, but that'll be more expensive. All you need other than the chalk is a water bottle spray, protective gloves, towels and a flat/curling iron.

Step 2: Prep your hair

Step 2: Prep your hair

Make sure to wet the hair first so the colour will attach to it. However if you’re blonde, do not wet the hair before chalking unless you want the colour to stay in longer.

Step 3: Add the color

Step 3: Add the colour

Apply the chalk to the strand of hair in a downward motion, twist the hair as you chalk. You can try for a fun ombre look, or just do a couple strands.
Step 4: Let it dry

Step 4: Let it dry

You can either blow-dry or air-dry your hair so that the colour can set in your hair.
Step 5: Set the color

Step 5: Set the colour

Seal the colour in with a flat iron or a curling iron to add waves. Apply hair spray as a final step.

Step 6: Wash it out when you are ready

The colour generally will only last one shampoo; however, if the hair is more porous, such as colour treated blonde hair, it can last a couple shampoos.

TIP

If you want something brighter, you can apply white chalk first and then go over it with the colour you want to make it pop.

Hair Chalking Don'ts

  • Don’t apply the chalk with any wax or product in your hair.
  • Don’t use water on blonde hair if you don’t want the color to last.
  • Wear protective clothing when applying and sleep on an old pillow case as the color will transfer.
  • Don’t try this near the water/beach or on a rainy day.

Another voilalicious hair trend that we've spotted is the... Hai Mian Bao Bao!~ :3
It is basically to tie up your hair in a bun with the use of a sponge called Hai Mian Bao Bao!! So cute~ :3
It makes your bun very neat and organised, which is great for outings as well as work. It is easy to do and fuss-free!~ Voila!

Here are the steps to get this cute Hai Mian Bao Bao BUUNNN~!! :3

1st Step: Tie a normal ponytail~

Our voilalicious hair model, Sandy, with the end result!
Voila!~ :3

Voilalicious Tip: You might want to wear a hair band to accentuate the bun and accessorize your hair. Also, you might also consider using a cute and detailed rubber band when tying your hair so that the bun would be even more accentuated. You would definitely look more voilalicious fabulous!~ :3

Do remember to try out these cool and new hair trends! A recommendation is to do it with friends, especially with the Hair Chalking, and you'll have a voilaliciously great time!

Also, do remember to join the contest to with those awesome The Blackground membership cards~!

Next week, we'll be posting on Blooogggeersss~ So don't miss that out!

Stay voilaliciously Fabulous,
